Sophie Tlhabadira

Sophie is a Community and Ecological Impact Practitioner with Abundant Village, working at village level in South Africa alongside communities living in and beside critical ecosystems. She focuses on the social foundations that make conservation succeed, supporting livelihoods, education, food security and local leadership so that communities can become confident custodians of the landscapes they depend on.

Sophie believes environmental protection begins with human dignity and agency. She backs women and young people to step into leadership roles that shape how land, water and resources are managed, and she builds solutions alongside communities rather than for them. Her approach is collaborative, practical and rooted in long-term trust. Through her work, Sophie is turning social impact into environmental protection, one village at a time.
