Terms & Conditions — Abundant Village

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the website at abundantvillage.world (“Website”) and your engagement with Abundant Village (“we”, “us”, “our”), a non-profit organisation focused on protecting wildlife and communities in and around the Greater Kruger National Park region. By accessing the Website, donating, volunteering, partnering with us, or otherwise engaging with our initiatives, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Website.

1. About Abundant Village

Abundant Village is a non-profit organisation that provides security and support against poaching activities and assists local communities with conservation-aligned projects. Contact details appear in Section 20.

2. Definitions

  • “Donor” means any person or entity that contributes funds, goods, or services to us.
  • “Supporter” means anyone who participates in campaigns, events, or awareness activities.
  • “Volunteer” means any person who contributes time or expertise (unpaid) to our projects.
  • “Partners” means NGOs, sponsors, service providers, and government or private stakeholders we work with.
  • “Content” means text, images, video, audio, graphics, and materials on the Website.

3. Website use

  • You must use the Website lawfully and not disrupt, damage, or impair its operation.
  • You may not attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or data.
  • Where interactive features exist (e.g., forms, comments), you must not post unlawful, defamatory, or harmful content.

4. Donations & payments

  • Donations are voluntary contributions to support our mission. Unless required by applicable law, donations are generally non-refundable. If you believe a payment was made in error, contact us promptly (see Section 20).
  • Where third-party payment processors are used, their terms and privacy practices apply in addition to ours.
  • We may issue acknowledgements or receipts as appropriate. This is not tax advice; consult your advisor about deductibility in your jurisdiction.

5. Events, field activities & inherent risks

Conservation and anti-poaching environments can involve inherent risks (e.g., wildlife, terrain, remoteness). By participating in any activity or event, you acknowledge and accept such risks and agree to follow our safety guidance and the instructions of our team and partners at all times.

6. Volunteers

  • Volunteers may be required to complete applications, training, and sign risk acknowledgements or waivers.
  • We may decline or end a volunteer placement at our discretion (e.g., safety, capacity, or suitability).

7. Partners & third-party services

We collaborate with various partners and service providers. We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of third-party websites or services linked from the Website. Review their terms before engaging.

8. Intellectual property

All Content on the Website (including our name, logo, text, photos, videos, and graphics) is owned by or licensed to Abundant Village. You may not reproduce, adapt, distribute, or use our Content for commercial purposes without our prior written permission. You may link to our Website in a fair and lawful manner that does not harm our reputation.

9. Accuracy of information

We aim for accuracy, but conservation conditions evolve. Content is provided “as is” and may be updated without notice.

11. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by South African law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, arising from or related to your use of the Website, donations, events, or activities. Our total liability for claims relating to the Website shall not exceed the amount (if any) you paid directly to us for the specific service giving rise to the claim.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Abundant Village, its officers, employees, volunteers, and agents against claims or losses arising from your breach of these Terms or unlawful use of the Website.

13. User submissions

If you submit testimonials, photos, or stories, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce, and publish them in connection with our mission (crediting you where reasonable). Do not submit content you do not own or have permission to share.

17. Governing law & jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. You consent to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts for disputes relating to these Terms or the Website.
